Abstract expressionist Mark Rothko's paintings are prime examples of the colour field style. Rothko layers up his work with thin layers to eventually create abstract blocks of colour. When dyeing this yarn, I too build upon layers of dye to create the rich, colourful yarns you see here. Oranges, Pinks and Purples is in my range of colour field yarns and builds on pretty a mixture of deep orange, smooth pink and rich purple colours.
This Peruvian yarn is a standard 4 Ply made from 100% Superwash Merino wool which is soft to touch and won't be itchy next to the skin. The fibres have been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable, therefore it will not ‘felt’ when washed, it is a great easy-care yarn - but please be gentle with your hand knits!
