Jackson Pollock was an abstract impressionist, renowned for using a 'drip technique' to create his frenetic works. I use similar drip techniques when dyeing my yarn. Composition With Pouring is one of Pollocks earlier works, with a painted base, as Pollock started to move away from the traditional techniques and experiment with tools including sticks and knives, this painting is layered with drips. Deep reds and shades of blue are sprayed throughout this colourful yarn.
This Peruvian yarn is a standard 4 ply made from 100% Superwash Merino wool which is soft to touch and won't be itchy next to the skin. The fibers have been specially treated before being spun to enable it to be machine washable, therefore it will not ‘felt’ when washed, it is a great easy-care yarn - but please be gentle with your hand knits!
