Frida Kahlo is one of the most recognisable faces in the history of art and this yarn is inspired by the vibrant blue house that she was born, lived and died in 'Casa Azul'. The Blue House is now home to the Frida Kahlo museum, where you can see many of her famous pieces of art. The primary colour in this limited edition colourway is a cobalt blue accented with a ruby red and emerald green.
Alpaca Merino Aran is a beautifully soft blend with 50% of the finest Peruvian baby alpaca and 50% merino wool. Baby Alpaca is one of the most luxurious fibres in the world and is incredibly warm, lightweight and strong. It has hypoallergenic properties as it doesn't contain lanolin, so it's safe to wear if you have skin allergies. Alpaca is said to be three times warmer than sheep’s wool as the fibres have excellent insulation properties whilst remaining light and breathable. This is a 2 ply construction of yarn and has a loose twist which gives a bouncy textured finish. This is a non-superwash yarn so is 100% natural and untreated. This yarn is recommended for hats, shawls and mitts.
